Do YOU Have What it Takes??

A simple question really, and yet, do YOU know the answer? Well let me tell you that I did not, I struggled all my life to make ends meet, I worked hard and did my best to learn what I needed to know to get ahead in life and still I found myself lagging. The problem is that most day jobs do not pay enough, you save when and if you can, you try to grow your money, but little headway is met. Even when you feel like you are getting ahead life rears it ugly head and you have no choice but to dip into your savings to fix the car, repair the roof, or any number of unexpected expenses. With the uncertainty of today’s economy are you even sure your job will even be there tomorrow. Serious concerns for one and all and you must realize that once you enter the workforce retirement is really just around the corner.
Its a problem faced buy the multitudes and the answer is at YOUR fingertips. So I ask again, DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? Now I know what you are thinking, this guy is going to tell me that online marketing is the answer I have been looking for. Well it can be!! The thing is that financial freedom is not achieved overnight.You need to understand that in order to make it work, like most endeavors that are worthwhile you have to be dedicated. It is an investment in time and effort to build an online marketing business. The initial investment really is negligible, for a very small amount of money you CAN get started, even if you have limited computer skills.
So let me ask you another question, where you aware that there truly is all the information that you need for just about anything available to you online? Go ahead and pick a topic, Google it and tell me you can not find pertinent information on that topic. You may have to go though a few sites to find what you are looking for but believe me when I tell you, its all there. I have yet to come up empty when I seek the tools and information I need online. So you have all the information you need, you have all the tools you need, the only thing left is the desire to SUCCEED.
I am not going to tell you that you can do 5 or 6 figures a month with online marketing but I will tell you there are a lot of people that do. People like you and I that had to start at the beginning, had to research and learn what was necessary to create there business, had to dedicate themselves to the idea of becoming successful. Its all there for you, you simply have to GO GET IT!!!!

Just thought I’d chime in and agree with you 100%. Nice overview of what it takes to make it online….and you are so right…it takes time, patience and alot of work.
I’ve been working online now for almost 4 years….fulltime for 16 months and let me tell you, it’s been the most incredible, rewarding, eye-opening process I’ve ever been a part of…and I’ll be 60 this year! There are days I make very little and days where I make hundreds…hopefully, as I learn more, I’ll have more of the latter but everyday is an unreal day working online, no matter what I make.

I know I am in no way on the same level as your posters but, I do believe in myself and I know I will make it. It is very very time consuming. The hardest part is putting it all together. When you are self taught and have absolutely no computer experience it can get confusing. The part I do not like is the hype about how easy it is! It is not easy! I buy or download the software and then I am stuck with okaaaayyyy now what???? The explanations for putting it together are just not very good I guess because you are buying from other afilliates (whoops) spelled wrong. They are just after the sale. I have emailed different people with no response back from most so with those I just delete. So, to your subject do I think I have what it takes? I know I do I just wish I was a bit more savvy with computer software and how to make it all work together. Thanks for listening.

Thanks for your post and believe me when I say I know what you are talking about, when I was starting out it was very difficult. You have the right attitude and I do believe you will succeed!! Keep at it you will get there.
I would suggest to you that you get some coaching, the money you invest will come back to you I guarantee it! The thing is to teach yourself is effective but the time it takes can be anti productive. You do not have to chain yourself to someone, you probably only need a small amount of help to get going. I have posted about one coach I truely trust and beleive he can help you but I suggest you reseach a bit before jumping in.
Keep that positive attitude and do not give up, dedication and hard work produce rewards!!

I have to agree with Kimberly! It IS time consuming. Pulling it all together is the hardest part! I am self-taught, too. OK I DID buy into some coaching from the “gurus” at a very minimal price. I certainly can’t afford the thousands of dollars it would take to get personal coaching, or even to go to a seminar! And I can only afford to sign up to the do-it-yourself type deals where you watch the videos they send you and then automatically, “You now know how to do this! You now know how to do that!” But, guess what? No I don’t. Not without watching the video again. There are sooooo many things to do and so many items to get done in order to get it all put together! Its exasperating! I have two websites planned and two facebook pages with the same names as the websites. My websites are not up yet. I did find help at the Chris Farrell Membership site. All newbies should try it.

Thanks For Your Post Deborah , you are absolutely correct, information overload is a very common problem. So many people tell you to do it this way or do it that way and knowing which direction to take is extremely difficult without at least some help, There are a ton of programs out there that advertise that you will have your site up in a day and making money the next, That simply is not true, even the fully automated website programs require a great deal of work to get them started and making money. Remember that these fully automated programs still require you to add the content, no easy task for a beginner.
You are also correct in saying that at least some coaching is needed and I know of Chris Farrel and know he knows his stuff. For those reading this and interested in Chris Farrel and his membership program there is a banner on the sidebar of this page that will take you to his site, Check it out!!

I started an Internet Marketing business about 9 months ago on a shoe string budget. If only I knew then what I know now it would be a more successful story. One thing not stressed by the “Gurus” is that it takes a ling time to build your reputation online.Other than that I am plugging away at trying to get more free traffic.I am struggling to make a few dollars online because I do not have sufficient funds or time to take the software shortcuts I need to do the proper research. I have had to go back to a part time day job – UGH But, will never quit trying.

Another person with the right attitude, outstanding, for those of you reading these posts I need to tell you all right now that having a successful online business does not happen over night regardless of what anyone says. I keep repeating myself and I do so to drive home what you must do, you must stick with it, work hard and be dedicated to it, that is the only recipe to success.
Andy, are you building a list?? E-mail marketing is where its at my friend. When people say the money is in the list they are telling you the truth. Build your list, aquire Joint Venture Partners and build, build, build !!! Whatever your niche is there are people building lists and getting involved with them is the best plan.
Keep at it Andy and you will reach your goals!!!

The most irritating thing I find with IM is the widespread practice of absolutely overwhelming “acknowleged and clearly identifiable NEWBIES” – who are simply uptaking offers of ” Clearly, – STARTUP” product,— with an absolute deluge of UPSELL items, – that most of us have NO IDEA — of what to do with anyway, until we get to digest and familiarise ourselves with the BASIC product that we sought to purchase originally. Terribly confusing to a Newbie — and as a result one often misses out on downloading ALL of the elements of the original offer.
Also most discouraging to have just paid for a product, – only to be told that, OK – it WILL work — BUT ! — Not much good – without the Upsell that the vendor is trying hard to push upon you. Dosent do much for your ongoing confidence in this merchant.

Hey Peter,
I totally agree with you!! The vast majority of these quick start software programs seem to be basically useless without the upsell. I strongly advise you or anyone to research the product well before purchasing it, some of these programs out there actually work but it takes time to absorb all the information that is being thrown at you. The thing is that you do need the upsell to make it work. Even with the upsell really it is a small investment if you consider that you are creating a business that has the potential to bring you a return.
One thing I strongly suggest is to contact their customer service before purchasing the product, see how long it takes them to respond if at all and you will have an idea of the type of support you will be recieving with the product purchase. If you do not get a response within a day or two at the most I suggest you do not go with that product at all and continue your seach for something that will work for you.
Keep in mind also that often this investment is not the only expense you will have, almost all of these programs require web hosting which is a additional cost and be sure to get a good host. I use Bluehost Domains and there is also link on my resourses page that will take you there.
As I said earlier the key here is research, nothing worth investing in is not worth the time to investigate the product or service. Send them an e-mail asking for a more indepth explaination of there product and what level of customer support you can expect. If you get a favorabvle response within a reasonable amount of time then you probably have found a good program to get a start with.

Hi there Rick! Just to let you know I am in agreement with all the above comments. Just like Kimberly am a novice at IM. Tried many products each one promising win win situation only to find out you are back to square one and still can’t get started. Such overwhelming information but frustrating at the same time. I just want an honest and useful advice so that I can finally get started and start earning some money at last. I will persevere but in the mean time, any tips… please?

Hello Percinette,
I totally understand where you are comming from Percinette. There is an overwhelming amount of information out there to process and there is a ton of programs, training videos, pdf files, and promises of get rich in a day, week, month. From all my experiences the vast majority of them either give you only enough to get you wanting more or are basically useless to someone starting out. Don’t get me wrong some of these are truely useful as well but sifting through them can be frustrating.
My best tip for you would be to get into a coaching program, they are not free but if you find a good one and there are some out there that are good, you can get the information you need to get things started, and if you work hard at it the money will come back. Its usually slow in the beggining but as you grow so will your earnings. My advice would be to get in your mind that for the first 6 months there will be little or no profits.
I also think for the begginner the best route to take would be list building, I have said it before and will say it again “the money is in the list”. My friend Lee McIntyre is very good and I have posted here about him a few times. Follow the link on my post about online coaching and sign up for one of his programs, they cost $1.00 for the first 30 days so really what have you got to lose? , a buck for 30 days and if you feel you are getting nothing out of it $1.00 is wasted not hundreds.
Make sure you come back and post your feelings regarding his coaching program so I can share it with others, good or bad I would like to hear about it.

Ashley, I bet you are that smart and if you put your mind to it you could have your own blog up and running in no time. All you need is some web hosting and to download wordpress, the installation instructions are easy to follow and there is alot of information available to help. Or you can try Googles Blogger. I personally have not used Blogger but hear it is easy to work with and I beleive it will host your page as well. I guarantee that with some reading and effort you can get it done. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Just do not expect to get it done in a few hours, it is a substantail amount of work to get it all set up and write your home page as well as any other pages you want ( About, Resourses, etc.). Put you mind to it and take it slow, you do not have to understand everything about it but it helps to absorb as much as possible.
As you build it you will learn more and keep in mind there is always help on the web, google your questions and someone will have the answers I am certain of this. The biggest trick is to not get frustrated and quit, keep at it even if it takes a month or more to get it done. If you want it bad enough you WILL succeed..
